WTBT$/JW's = AMWAY/MLM Schemes
by Darth Fader The Sequel inall of the wts tactics and procedures are based off of your most basic mlm (multi-level marketing) schemes.
take your pick of amway, or any of the other vitamin or financial mlm's.
they all work the exact same way.

"All of the WTS tactics and procedures are based off of your most basic MLM (multi-level marketing) schemes. Take your pick of Amway, or any of the other vitamin or financial MLM's. They all work the exact same way. The power structure, phony hierarchy, silly name tags and graduated titles, public recognition of high achievers, special delegates to conventions and gatherings, exclusive meetings for high achievers, special publications for certain "leaders", hyperbolic testimonials....... everything. EVERYTHING IS AMWAY WITH THE JW's!!!"
...
you know, this was one of the many things which helped wake me up. Our family joined "Melaleuca" and the similarities were so striking, I couldn't help comparing it to the JW meetings & all the things you mentioned above! The conventions and assemblies felt like big sales meetings. And when you met people, there was a sudden conflict of interest -- do you tell them about the Kingdom or do you tell them about Melaleuca?? lol
it was all so silly.

TECHNOLOGY and COMMUNICATION: a look back at Watchtower merchandizing
by Terry inthousands of people in america were the beneficiaries of new inventions in technology in the 1870's.. the typewriter, the telephone, and the light bulb transformed something we may have never considered before.. communication was ramped up seemingly without limit for the first time in human history!.
pastor russell's customers were simple folks frightened by monumental changes.. what did these rapid changes really mean?.
pastor russell distilled everything down to the notion everything was understandable as signs of the end.. ____________________________.

Of Pain, Growth, Change, and Moving Forward
by SnarlingRaven in"did you not in your discontentment make supplication to the great void, and to the darkness, to bring forth the mighty storm that lays waste to all that stales and stagnates?
did you not climb the treacherous mountain to witness the melting of snow?
do not peals of blinding light illuminate your face?

A picture of a WT dream
by Sour Grapes inpeople stay jehovah's witnesses for several reasons.
the foremost is because they are taught that they could cheat death and not have to die or even better yet not have to get old.
the second is they can see their dead relatives again , who have a direct pass to paradise, and that we must obey to get there to see them in the resurrection.

And why does Jesus have a damn white beard!?? If a person is perfect, he's supposed to never grow old, right??

How did you feel when you got baptised? Seriously....
by stuckinarut2 inso recently, several over-righteous ones in the cong were discussing "how amazing it felt when they got baptised".
statements like "how awesome did it feel as you got raised back out of the water?!".
or the classic "i felt so close to jehovah as i came out of the pool"!.
-
Muddy Waters
Brujadelsol, you said something which was very similar to the way I felt. Because the baptism happened so fast! It was so anti-climatic compared to all the great build up towards it. Afterward I couldn't help feeling like I had been in some sort of assembly line process. I blamed myself for not being spiritual enough or taking time to pray, etc.

Is this is something new in this picture, too? -- they are showing people with HOBBIES!! There are people sailing, fishing, and even setting up a tripod for photography.
If you see a JW doing any of that stuff today, you'd wonder at their (low) spiritual condition and how much time they might be spending in these terrible time-wasting, refuse-like pursuits!
Bah!

Two pet peeves of mine
by Sour Grapes inthere are two things that just drive me crazy.
one is that the art work in the watchtower is treated like they are actual still photo's taken thousands of years ago.
your will hear comments about look at the smiles on their faces or the sadnees or happiness in their eyes, or notice the reaction of the crowd, etc.

Yes, and they carry clubs, too! Even modern day revilers! You can surely see this is evidence of their Satanic thinking. Headbands. Snarls. Raised fists, or clubs, lol. with maybe a drunk person lying on the ground, usually female. And maybe a Ouija board.
Do you see? Do you see how real this picture is? Do you see how it perfectly represents reality? Do you see from this picture that this is the way things are?
Geez. What goons. Goons running a pretty good scam, though. :(
